Ðǿմ«Ã½-WISE

Ðǿմ«Ã½ Writing Initiative for Scholarly Engagement (Ðǿմ«Ã½-WISE)

Ðǿմ«Ã½-WISE is a weekly accountability group for Ðǿմ«Ã½ faculty and staff to help us accomplish needed writing or other academic work. We meet virtually for one hour per week to check in for 10 minutes on what we need to accomplish, spend 40 minutes quietly working, and end with 10 minutes on what we accomplished. This supportive group helps us stay motivated to make progress on challenging projects.

Writing is an essential component of maintaining one’s academic identity, however, we often struggle to find the time and discipline needed to write consistently. To address this issue, CAFE hosts this weekly Ðǿմ«Ã½-WISE writing accountability group program. In addition to helping faculty and staff cultivate productive writing habits, this program also facilitates opportunities for us to connect with colleagues across departments and schools, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and strengthening relationships within the university community. We hope you will join us.

Spend time away from main campus for focused research, thinking, writing, editing, support, and accountability with other dedicated colleagues. The Ðǿմ«Ã½-WISE Writing Retreat is free for Ðǿմ«Ã½ faculty and staff, offering multiple themed writing sessions, with optional peer review. Other activities include walking, kayaking, yoga, meditation, and fellowship. Contact CAFE@salisbury.edu for details.
